About the Company:

Our client is a leading commodity trading house with an established presence in the energy and metals sector. They specialize in trading, logistics, and risk management across global markets and are now seeking an Operations Executive to join their growing operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle end-to-end operations across both dry bulk shipments.
• Coordinate with suppliers, buyers, ship owners, charterers, and port agents to ensure smooth and timely execution of shipments.
• Prepare, review, and process all shipping and trade documentation, including Bills of Lading, Letters of Credit, Certificates of Origin, and Customs clearance documents.
• Monitor vessel schedules, port activities, and cargo status to anticipate and resolve any operational issues.
• Manage laytime calculations, demurrage/dispatch claims, and coordinate with finance on settlement of freight, demurrage, and related charges.
• Ensure compliance with trade regulations, sanctions, and company policies, maintaining accurate records and reports.
• Work closely with traders, risk, and finance teams to provide operational input and support on commercial deals.
• Handle insurance, claims, and disputes where required.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business, or related fields.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in commodity operations (coal, nickel, or other dry bulk/metals cargo preferred).
• Strong knowledge of dry bulk shipping and/or container operations.
• Familiarity with incoterms, shipping documentation, and international trade regulations.
• Hands-on experience with demurrage/laytime calculations is an advantage.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to handle pressure in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
