Our client is a well established and leading agribusiness conglomerate with strong presence in Asia Pacific. They are looking for a seasoned professional to join their team based in Geneva as the Senior Physical & Logistics Operations Specialist.

Responsibilities

·        Oversee the end-to-end scope of shipping operations, including contract administration and documentation.

·        Prepare and manage a full set of shipping documents to support timely shipment processing, contract allocation, and vessel nomination.

·        Coordinate shipments with suppliers, buyers, shipbrokers, shipowners/agents, freight forwarders, surveyors, insurers, and liner companies to ensure seamless loading and delivery.

·        Review and verify Letters of Credit and Bank Guarantees.

·        Liaise with shippers on scheduling and logistics planning for bulk, breakbulk, and containerized cargo.

·        Work with banks on the issuance of Letters of Credit, negotiation of clean documents, and collection-related paperwork.

·        Utilize SAP, ITAS, or related systems for invoicing, reconciliation, and documentation management.

·        Monitor and follow up on shipping claims, demurrage/despatch matters, receivables, payables, and client aging reports.

·        Collaborate with internal teams (Commercial, Risk, Global Offices, Finance, Accounts, Pricing, Chartering) to identify potential execution risks and develop mitigation strategies.

·        Proactively identify and resolve shipment execution issues.

·        Provide guidance and training to Operations teams in Singapore and other regional offices as needed.

·        Ensure compliance with company SOPs for smooth and efficient operations.

·        Handle ad-hoc shipping or operational assignments as required.

·        Prior experience handling raw or white sugar shipments will be an advantage.

Requirements

·        Must be holding onto a B/C/G permit or currently a Swiss citizen

·        Relevant experience in Trade Operations and preparation of shipping documentation

·        No flexible work arrangement (i.e. fully in office)
